Most of the wires in this truck have cloth covered insulation.
Some of these wires have arced across and the insulation has charred off.
I want to keep this truck as original as I can, which means keeping the 6 volt wiring, starter & generator.
I suspect sometime in the future it will be converted to a 12 volt system, but for now I'm thinking 6 volt.
6 volt wiring has to be "heavier" to accommodate the amperage.
Alas, I can't find 6, 8 or 10 gauge cloth covered insulated wiring that is in good shape.
So I used automotive wire & 4 gauge welding cable to replace the wiring to the generator, distributor and temperature sensor.
I'll try to get into the cab with replacement wire tomorrow, but the weather has not cooperated.
